Alex Escobar

Alex Escobar was an outfielder for the Mets in 2001. He played in 18 games with the team. Escobar had 10 hits for 20 total bases as a Met.
Escobar began his major league career with the Mets in '01. In his debut on May 8, he had a run-scoring single in the Mets' 12-4 loss at Colorado. Alex hit his first major league home run in a 9-3 Mets defeat to the Braves in 11 innings on June 23 at Shea Stadium. He also drove in four runs with a pair of homers in the Mets' 8-6 loss to the Expos at Shea on October 5.
On December 11, 2001, Escobar was traded to the Indians. He played in 74 games with the Cleveland team. Alex appeared in 33 games for the Washington Nationals in 2006. He played two more seasons in the Nats' minor league system to conclude his career.
