Allen Watson

Allen Watson was a pitcher for the Mets in 1999. He made four starts and ten relief appearances for the team. Watson had two wins and one save as a Met.
Watson signed with the Mets as a free agent in January of ’99. He recorded 32 strikeouts in 39 and two-thirds innings during his time with the Mets. In his first game with the team on April 6, Allen pitched three innings and got the save as the Mets defeated the Florida Marlins, 12-3, at Miami. He was the winning pitcher in the Mets’ 6-3 victory at Montreal on April 11. Watson struck out eight batters in five innings and got the win in a 7-2 Mets triumph over the Giants on April 30 at Shea Stadium. He also had five strikeouts in three innings pitched in the Mets’ 11-10 win over the Brewers in the first game of a doubleheader at Shea on May 20.
On June 18, 1999, Watson was traded to the Seattle Mariners. He completed his career with the Yankees the following year.
