Amos Otis

Amos Otis was a member of the Mets in 1967 and 1969. He had 27 hits and 12 runs scored in 67 games played. Otis was an outfielder who also played four games at third base.
Amos got the first three hits of his major league career on September 14, 1967 at Atlanta. Two of these hits came off Hall of Famer Phil Niekro in the Mets' 5-4 loss to the Braves. Four days later, he got his first run batted in with a single to score Ken Boswell in a 7-2 win over the Dodgers at Shea Stadium.
In the Mets' championship season of 1969, Otis appeared in 48 games. He had a run-scoring double in a 6-run first inning as the Mets defeated the Astros, 11-7, at Shea on May 4. Amos scored the first of eight Met runs in the eighth inning for a comeback win over the Braves at Shea on May 14. He also got his first career triple at Philadelphia on September 27.
Otis was traded with pitcher Bob Johnson to the Kansas City Royals for Joe Foy on December 3, 1969. During his 14 years with the Royals, Amos became an All-Star and was a prime player for a team that won four American League West Division championships and the 1980 American League pennant. He ended his career with the Pirates in 1984.
