Andy Phillips

Andy Phillips was an outfielder and first baseman for the Mets in 2008. He played in four games with the team. Phillips had one hit and one run scored as a Met.

In ’08, Phillips was claimed on waivers by the Mets from the Reds. he made his debut with the team in its 15-6 win over the Yankees on June 27. Andy also singled and scored in a 7-1 Mets loss at St. Louis on June 30.

On July 3, 2008, Phillips returned to the Reds on waivers. He completed the season with the Cincinnati team and spent two years in pro ball in Japan. Andy became the assistant baseball coach at the University of Alabama in 2011.
