1967: The Mets split a doubleheader with the Reds. Tom Seaver gets his first career loss in the second game.
1980: Mark Bomback pitches a two-hit shutout in a 2-0 Mets win over the Phillies at Shea Stadium.
1986: The Mets defeat the Braves, 8-1, in Atlanta. It is the 11th consecutive win for the Mets, tying a team record previously set in 1969 and 1972.
1987: Rick Aguilera pitches a three-hit complete game in an 11-3 Mets win over the Expos at Shea Stadium. All three Montreal hits come in the first inning.
1988: Mookie Wilson hits a triple to raise his hitting streak to a career high 7 games. The Mets defeat the Reds, 6-5. The game has two violent moments:
- Darryl Strawberry rushes the mound after pitcher Tom Browning hits Tim Teufel (who was batting .458 with five home runs in his career against Browning). Both Strawberry and Browning are ejected.
- Reds' manager Pete Rose is ejected for pushing umpire Dave Pallone, who had made a late call at first that helped the Mets score a run.
2002: The Mets pound out sixteen hits (eleven in the first three innings) in a 10-1 win over the Diamondbacks in Arizona.
2010: The Mets collect eight extra-base hits, including four homers, in a 9-1 win at Philadelphia.
