Angel Pagan was an outfielder for the Mets from 2008 to 2011. He played in 393 games with the team. Pagan had 423 hits, 87 stolen bases and 170 runs batted in as a Met.

A fourth-round draft choice of the Mets in 1999, Pagan was later sold to the Cubs. He was reacquired by the team in a trade on January 5, 2008. In ’08, Angel was limited to 31 games as an injured left shoulder had him on the disabled list from May 13 until the end of the season. His most noteworthy feat of the year was a run-scoring single in the 12th inning that gave the Mets a 4-3 victory over the Phillies on April 10 at Shea Stadium.

In 2009, Pagan had 167 total bases and compiled a .306 batting average. He led the Mets with 11 triples during the year. At Los Angeles on May 18, Angel had three singles and a double in a 3-2 Mets defeat to the Dodgers in 11 innings. He singled twice and drove in a run with a triple in a 5-1 Mets win at Atlanta on July 18. Pagan hit a grand slam to put the Mets ahead to stay in the team’s 9-6 victory over the Diamondbacks on August 1 at Citi Field. He had a single, triple, homers and four RBIs in a 9-0 Mets triumph over the Cardinals at Citi Field on August 5. Angel homered to lead off the first inning in the Mets’ 3-0 win over the Giants on August 14 at Citi Field. He hit two homers (one of which was inside-the-park) in a 9-7 Mets loss to the Phillies on August 23 at Citi Field. Pagan also had a single, two doubles and a triple in the Mets’ 4-0 triumph over the Astros in the season closer at Citi Field on October 4.

Pagan led the Mets with 168 hits and 37 stolen bases in 2010. He scored 80 runs during the season. At St. Louis on April 17, Angel singled three times and scored the winning run in a 2-1 Mets victory over the Cardinals in 20 innings. He had a two-run triple in a 5-4 Mets win over the Giants at Citi Field on May 8. Pagan hit an inside-the-park home run and started a triple play in the Mets’ 5-3 loss at Washington on May 19. He had a single, two doubles and two RBIs in a 5-3 Mets triumph over the Yankees on May 22 at Citi Field. Angel hit a two-run double in the Mets' 4-0 victory over the Yankees on June 18. He singled twice, doubled and scored two runs in the Mets’ 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks at Citi Field on July 31. Pagan had two singles, two doubles, a stolen base and three runs scored in a 6-5 Mets victory over the Marlins on August 24 at Citi Field. He also had eight hits in 17 at bats and drove in seven runs as the Mets swept a four-game series against the Pirates at Citi Field from September 13 to September 16.

In 2011, Pagan had 178 total bases in 123 games played. He accumulated 125 hits and 32 stolen bases on the season. From May 27 to June 3, Angel went 13-for-33 during an eight-game hitting streak. He singled and doubled twice each, stole a base, scored three runs and had four RBIs in a 16-9 Mets win at Detroit on June 29. Pagan homered in the 10th inning to give the Mets a 6-5 victory over the Cardinals on July 20 at Citi Field. He had two singles, a double and a pair of stolen bases in an 11-7 Mets victory over the Braves at Citi Field on August 6. Angel had eight hits in 13 at bats (including a homer) as the Mets got swept by the Brewers in a three-game series at Citi Field between August 19 and August 21. He also singled, doubled twice and scored the winning run in a 7-4 Mets triumph at Florida in 12 innings on September 6.

On December 6, 2011, Pagan was traded to the Giants for pitcher Ramon Ramirez and outfielder Andres Torres.
